Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Slow cooker Creamed Corn

So how many of us like to have simple and delicious side dishes on hand for holidays or potlucks or whatever? I know I do. And this one can’t get much easier or more tasty. Seriously. Combine everything. Stir a few times and cook. Boom. Done. Keep this recipe on hand when you don’t want to waste stove stop space cooking something like this. That’s what slow cookers are for, guys!!!

Slow Cooker Creamed Corn
36 ounces frozen corn (I used 3 12-ounce bags)
8 ounces cream cheese ~ cut into 1 inch cubes
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoons salt ~ or to taste
Combine all ingredients in your slow cooker and cook on low for 4 hours.
Stir to combine several times during the cooking process to make sure the cream cheese has melted.

Let's go!

Combine everything in your slow cooker!

Let her go for a few hours.
Don't forget to stir!

Serve it up with your favorite meal.
