Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Pizza Ring

This is so fun! You can use any pizza topping ingredients YOU like but I'm listing the ones we used. Using cheese slices makes this super easy but grated cheese would work as well. This is just so easy to change up and feeds quite a few people! It makes for some great leftovers, too.

Pizza Ring

2 tubes crescent rolls
1 cup pizza sauce
pepperoni
olives
onion
pepperoncini rings
bell pepper
mozz cheese
egg wash

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Lay the crescent rolls out into a circle onto a round pizza pan. There are normally 8 triangles in a can. You're going to want to end up with 4 rectangles per can. So that means you take two triangles and pinch then together to make one rectangle. (See picture below.)

Starting with the sauce,  layer your ingredients.

When you're finished layering your toppings, fold the dough over the topping into the center inside of the ring and tuck it underneath, pinching any seams together as you go.

Beat one egg in a small bowl with a little water and brush egg wash over the ring.

Bake for 30 minutes or so until ring is golden brown and inside is hot.

It's okay if some of the sauce leaks out a little bit but if you've sealed it well, you shouldn't have too much leakage.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
