Sometimes a girl just has to have a froo-froo sandwich. And sometimes...if she starves the men in her family all day, she will manage to get them to eat a froo-froo sandwich, too! And that's what I did! Actually, the guys here in my house really enjoyed it. Son #1 ate one and half....they were THAT good. If you enjoy sweet and savory together, then you'll like this sandwich.
Grilled Ham and Brie Sandwiches
1 pound deli ham
8 ounces Brie Cheese
8 slices of hearty bread
Heat a non stick skillet on medium heat.
Slice Brie cheese into thin slices.
Spread some peach jam on one side of each piece of the bread.
Lay slices of cheese on top of the jam on four pieces of the bread.
Then pile some ham on top of the cheese.
Add some more cheese on top of the ham.
Place a jam-spread piece of bread on top...jam side down, on top of the sandwich.
Butter one side and place butter-side down in the hot pan. Butter the "up" side.
Cook sandwich until brown on one side and cheese is soft. Flip sandwich to cook the other side.
Remove to a plate and allow to stand a couple of minutes before slicing.
Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!
