Since my kids are grown and (mostly) gone, my cooking has
changed quite a bit. If it's just me and IT Guy, lots of times I will
throw together something simple...like sandwiches. Like these! So easy
and so good! If you can't find shaved beef (ask your butcher to shave it
if you can't find it) you can also use thinly sliced steak. A tip for
slicing it thin at home: freeze the meat for about 15 - 20 minutes
before you slice it and it will come out nice and thin!
Shaved Beef Sliders

1 pound shaved beef (or thinly sliced steak)
1 medium onion ~ sliced
Provolone Cheese
Small dinner rolls or Hawaiian bread rolls
Salt and pepper
BBQ Sauce
Sliced the onion thin then caramelize in a heavy skillet with a little olive oil.
Remove onion from pan and add beef. Cook until done then add the onions back to the pan and heat through.
Brown rolls in a little butter in a small pan then assemble sandwiches.

This is all you need for your sandwiches.

Caramelize the onions.

Remove
the cooked onions to a plate
then brown the beef in the same pan.
Since
the beef is SO thin, this will only take a few minutes.

Add the onions back to the skillet and heat through.

Assemble the sandwiches and enjoy!!
