Wicked Sticky Chicken

I really like chicken. IT Guy....not so much. Oh he'll eat it...but he's like, meh..chicken. But guess what? He ate THIS with noooooo problem. Sticky and yummy and so easy to make! Drumsticks feed a lot of people for a little money, but you can use breasts or thighs or even wings! Or just use the whole ding-dang chicken! Delicious!

Wicked Sticky Chicken



4 pounds chicken drumsticks
Lawry's Seasoning Salt

For the sauce:

2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1 small onion ~ finely diced (optional)
4 cloves garlic ~ minced
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thick. 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.

Place chicken on baking sheet.

Season drumsticks with Lawry's salt. 

Pour about 1/2 of the sauce into a small bowl. Baste chicken with sauce. 

Allow chicken to cook for 1 hour, basting and turning every 15 minutes, using as much sauce as you need. Just keep your basting brush out of the entire batch of sauce to avoid contaminating it with raw chicken.

Serve with reserved sauce or refrigerate.
