I
love dipping stuff! These little peppermint sticks are perfect for
dipping! This little treat would be great if you want to bring the kids
into the kitchen with you for a holiday activity. No cooking involved
except for a little in the microwave. I found the peppermint sticks at
Walmart but I've seen them at Cracker Barrel if you're lucky enough to
have one of those near by. Anyway...try this fun little treat with your
little ones. I bet they have a ball!
Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Sticks
12 Peppermint sticks
1/2 to 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
2 tablespoons vegetable or Canola oil
Sparkling sugar (found in the baking aisle near the candles)
These are the amounts I used but you can certainly alter it for more or less.
Melt the white chocolate chips for about 1 - 1 1/2 minutes at 30 second intervals, stirring between intervals.
Add the oil and stir.
Dip the peppermints stick in the melted oil and shake off a little bit so it's not too thick.
Immediately sprinkle with sugar and set aside to for chocolate to harden.
I used a styrofoam block that I keep around for cake pops but you can also lay them on waxed paper.
