Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Biscuit Dippers

When I was a kid, my mom used to make this really cheap and easy little treat for us from time to time. And by cheap and easy I mean, like totally cheap and easy. A couple of cans of biscuits and some instant pudding....how much harder can it be? Use any flavor of pudding you want...I just happened to have chocolate in my pantry. Or make your own pudding. It wouldn't be so easy but it would be delicious! So if you're desperate for a snack, try this. A little naughty but it works in a pinch!

Biscuit Dippers

2 cans biscuits ~ just the regular kind, not the Grands
1 3-ounce box instant pudding ~ any flavor
Oil for frying the biscuits
Cinnamon/sugar

In a skillet, heat enough oil over medium heat in the bottom of the skillet to come half way up the sides.

Prepare the pudding according to package directions. Chill while frying the biscuits.

Separate the biscuits and make sure they're all relatively round and the same thickness.

Fry biscuits for a few minutes on each side until light golden brown and done in the center.

Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar.

Whip the set pudding with a wire whisk then serve with the fried biscuits.

Okay...here you go. I only used one can of biscuits but you'll need two to have enough for the pudding.
