Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Today, K decided she wanted to make smoothies. Whereas I think smoothies are wonderful and lucious, I hardly EVER make them and I know I've never made them for her. But she saw something on TV that made her want them. Maybe it was seeing some kids having fun putting everything in the blender but she was determined we were going to make them. So off to the store we went for the ingredients. She was so excited to pick out everything and couldn't wait to start. I know smoothies are pretty commonplace for everyone but not for a certain 3 year old who enjoyed time in the kitchen with me. So this post is for K....a cook-in-training!

Simple Smoothies

1 cup mixed frozen berries
1 sliced banana
¼ cup honey
½ cup vanilla yogurt
¼ cup orange juice

Place all ingredients in a blender and pulse until mixture is smooth.

Makes about 2 8-ounce glasses.

Here's what we used.

My little sous-chef added the berries first.

Then she dumped in the bananas.

Next was the honey.

Then some yogurt.

And lastly...the orange juice.
We whirled it up in the blender.
(Not sure about that face.)

Here's K getting ready to take a sip.
But wait!! She's informing me she needs a straw!

Ahhh....much better. It was very tasty, right, K?
