I just know you all are wondering about where I do all this cooking I post about. I know you're all on the edge of your seats just aching to see where the magic happens. Well...hang on to your hats and glasses....cuz I'm a-gonna show ya. In my previous two houses I had nice big kitchens. Lots of storage...a big pantry....a nice big countertop. All things that make it nice to create a meal. But the kitchen I'm in now has none of those things. It's teeny-tiny. The cabinets leave much to be desired. The counter space is sparse and the pantry was so small that I had to turn sideways to get in! It was so bad, I eliminated a closet on the opposite side of the kitchen to create a larger pantry/cabinet. I tell you...that little bit of renovation has SAVED me! But you know...this little kitchen is perfect for me. I feel a little bit like Goldilocks....it's juuuuuust right. A little on the small side, yes, but nothing that I can't handle. When I'm in the kitchen whipping up a meal, most of the time it's just me. The rest of the family scatters just in case I ask for help. Are there times when we run into each other? Yep. One of us has to step aside if there are more than two of us in there....but that's okay, too. Everything that needs to get done, gets done. I've got my family around me and everybody's happy.

~Kitchen Magic~

This angle shows the kitchen from the breakfast nook. Stove, fridge and my new glass cabinet doors (love those, btw). See that wooden top there in the foreground? IT Guy made that. He designed it and inlayed fluer-de-lis in it. Can you see them? Awesome, huh?

The view is at the end of counter looking toward the family room. You can see the sink area and IT Guy's beloved coffee pot. And the built in cabinet to the right of the coffee pot is my new pantry/cabinet we added. It's been a lifesaver! And take a look at that little skinny wall cabinet! Isn't that crazy? I didn't even know they made them that small! It holds all my Starbucks City Mugs that I collect.
