Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Dark Chocolate Chip Chocolate Cookies

If you like chocolate.....I mean if you REAAAAAALYYYY like chocolate, then here you go and you're welcome. These yummy cookies start with a chocolate dough then some dark chocolate chips are thrown in and...well, it's a chocolate lover's dream is what it is. Just make sure you've got a big ole' glass of milk standing by because you're gonna need it.
Dark Chocolate Chip

Chocolate Cookies

1/2 cup butter (1 stick) ~ softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 cups flour
1 10-ounce bag dark chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.

Cream together butter and sugars in a large bowl until fluffy.

Add vanilla and eggs.

Add baking soda, salt, cocoa powder and flour and stir until everything is well mixed.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Scoop cookie dough by the tablespoonful onto the prepared baking sheets, or use a cookie scoop. Press the tops of the cookies down a little bit. These are not going to spread out very much. They'll be kind of fat.

Bake cookies for about 7-8 minutes.

Allow cookies to rest on cookie sheet for another 2-3 minutes before removing to a cooling rack.
