Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Cinnamon Roll Sheet Cake

Cinnamon rolls are always a hit in our house, especially with IT Guy, but I don't always have the time to make them. Well, this little dessert fills in just fine. Using a cake mix as a base, along with a few other add-ins, I'm pretty sure you'll love this yummy treat when you're looking for something sweet and easy.

Cinnamon Roll Sheet Cake

1 yellow cake mix (plus the stuff to make it)
1 3-ounce box vanilla instant pudding
1 stick butter ~ melted
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cup powdered sugar ~ divided use
1/3 cup half & half OR heavy cream
1/4 cup half & half or heavy cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 15x10x1 inch rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.

Make cake according to box directions, adding 1 box of vanilla instant pudding.

Pour batter into prepared pan.

Combine melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Drizzle over cake batter then swirl through with a knife. (Do not mix in.)

Bake cake about 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Cool cake on wire rack for 10 minutes.

Combine 1 cup of the powdered sugar and the 1/3 cup half & half OR heavy cream and drizzle over warm cake.

Allow cake to cool completely.

Combine remaining 1 cup of powdered sugar and 4 tablespoons half & half or heavy cream and drizzle over cooled cake.

Cut into squares.
