Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Crock Pot Cube Steak

It was one of those "what to do for dinner days" the other day. Then I remembered I had some cube steak in my freezer. I scrounged up a couple of cans of cream of mushroom soup from the pantry and pulled out my homemade onion soup mix. Ta-da!!! Dinner!!! And also... yum!

Crock Pot Cube Steak

4 - 6 pieces cube steak
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
3 tablespoons onion soup mix
1 medium onion ~ large dice
1/2 cup water

Spray your crock pot with cooking spray.

In the crock pot, mix the soup, water, onion soup mix and onion.

Place the meat in the mixture and toss to coat.

Place the lid on and cook on low 8 - 10 hours or on high - 6 - 8 hours.

Serve with cooked noodles or rice.

This is ALL you need. And remember,
if you'd like, you can make your own
cream of mushroom soup instead of using
the canned stuff. But..this is an easy quick
recipe if you DO decide to go the canned route.

Throw the soup, onion and onion
soup mix into your crock pot and give it a stir.

Then nestle the meat down in there.

Cook on low for 8 hours or so or
on high for a while until the meat
is nice and tender. Mine practically fell apart.

Mmmm...see? Yummy!
