Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

I'm a white chocolate lover. Yeah, yeah...I know...it's not real chocolate but it's till good! This turned out REALLY good. Of course..we're homemade ice cream fans around here so we're pretty easy to please. But you should try this if you like white chocolate...so yummy!!

White Chocolate
Strawberry Ice Cream

5 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 12-ounce package white chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 quart heavy cream
Half and Half
8 ounces white chocolate ~ chopped fine
4 cups thinly sliced strawberries

In the top of a double boiler, whisk together the eggs and sugar. Cook until mixture is a pale yellow color and sugar has dissolved....about 15 minutes.

Add the white chocolate chips to the heated egg mixture and stir until chips are melted.

Pour mixture into your ice cream freezer.

Add the vanilla and the salt.

Add the heavy cream then top off to the fill line with Half and Half. Stir well.

Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.

When ice cream is done, pour into a freezer safe container.

Add finely chopped white chocolate and sliced strawberries. Freeze until firm.

Let's go!

Combine the eggs and sugar
in the top of a double boiler.

When that has cooked, add the the
white chocolate chips and stir until melted.

Pour the egg mixture into your
freezer then add the vanilla and salt.

Then add the heavy cream and half and half.

Freeze!! Brrrrr....!!!!!

Chop your 8 ounces of white
chocolate and slice the strawberries.

Then add it to the finished ice cream.

Freeze....

..and serve!
