Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

I have one box of fall decorations. Just one. I'm embarrassed to tell you how many boxes of Christmas decorations I have, though. We'll save that for another day. But...I decided to get that one box out of the attic...okay, I had IT Guy do it, but still, it's out and that's all that matters.

I decided that I wanted to decorate the mantel. Like, NOW! So I dragged my box downstairs and started picking through it to find some stuff to put out. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

One thing I'm really excited about is the fall leaf garland I made. I was browsing Cherry Menlove's blog and found this leaf garland.

Oh my...I fell in love right on the spot! So cute! And easy! And cute!! Because I'm not an artist...not even a little bit,  I found some leaf templates online.

I just printed them off and then traced them onto my felt. I am so happy with the way it looks. It was something I could sit in the evening and do...it just took me a couple of days. Just follow Cherry's directions and you can't go wrong!!

And because I was in the mood...I did my table, too. So here are a couple of pictures of my dining room. I bought a few pumpkins at the grocery store today to warm up the sideboard. You can't really tell in the picture, but I used a couple of Cake Props to give the little pumpkins a lift.

 A blank canvas.

Ta-daaa!!!!
