Aren't biscuits just about the
perfect food? We love them here in the SFFS house. Breakfast, lunch or
dinner....we are fans. They're also great for dessert or as a little
sweet treat. Try these fun biscuits with some apple butter! They're not
as hard to make as you might think!
Cinnamon Sugar Biscuits
1/4 cup sugar ~ divided use
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons COLD butter ~ cut into small cubes
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter ~ melted
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
In a small bowl, measure out 3 tablespoons of the sugar. Combine with the cinnamon. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and remaining sugar.
Cut the 6 tablespoons of cold butter into the flour mixture with a pastry cutter until mixture resembles peas.
Pour in the milk and stir until just combined.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat gently into an 8-inch circle.
Sprinkle with half of the cinnamon/sugar mixture then fold dough in half and press down gently to make the dough a little bigger.

Brush biscuits with melted butter then sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon/sugar mixture.
