These are awesome! I love me a good chicken wing and really prefer
them fried but baking them with the brown sugar glaze on them then
smothering them in more glaze...pretty stinkin' good! And so easy! I
sent the leftovers home with my daughter for her hubby who is a chicken
wing maniac...and I have to say...I'm regretting that decision because I
loved them so much. I guess that's a good excuse to make more, right?
Baked Brown Sugar Chicken Wings
1 1/2 cups ketchup
3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
1
1/2
tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1
1/2
tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Coarse salt
Ground pepper
4 pounds chicken chicken wings, patted dry
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray or cover with foil.
In a medium
bowl, whisk together ketchup, sugar, Worcestershire, vinegar, salt and
pepper.
Cut wing tips off of chicken wings, then divide the remaining wings in half at the joint.
In large bowl, toss wings with half of the sauce. (Reserve the rest of the sauce for cooked chicken.)
Place
chicken wings on the prepared cookie sheet. I like to put the
"drumettes" along the outside edge of the pan and the smaller wing
portion to the inside for more even cooking.
Bake wings
for 20 minutes. Toss then continue baking for another 10 - 15 minutes. I
even set mine under the broiler for about 5 minutes to crisp the skin a
little bit.
Place cooked chicken into a large clean bowl and toss with remaining sauce.
Welcome!
Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!
