IT Guy loves, loves, LOVES anything apple. If we’re sharing a dessert in a restaurant, I’m going for the chocolate and he’ll pick apple every time. Me? I’m just “meh” about apple. But I have to say that not only did IT Guy totally enjoy this, I found it pretty tasty, too! And this is so easy! I think I could even teach IT Guy make it....HA!
Salted Caramel Apple Poke Cake
1 yellow cake mix ~ made according to the box direction in a 9x13 inch pan
1 can apple pie filling
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 nutmeg
1 container salted caramel cake frosting
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray.
Make and bake cake according to direction for 9x13 cake.
Combine nutmeg and cinnamon into sweetened condensed milk.
When cake is done, poke holes all over with the handle of a wooden spoon.
Pour sweetened condensed milk mixture in the holes.
Pour apple pie filling onto a large cutting board and dice apples with a large knife.
Spread diced apples over the cake.
Heat caramel frosting for a few seconds in the microwave. Stir to smooth. Heat for another few seconds until frosting is pourable.
Pour frosting over cake and spread to edges.
Cool cake then serve!
