Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

As I was looking at a package of flour tortillas the other day, it dawned on me that stacked tacos might be fun. This is a no-brainer and just another way to eat tacos...but they're fun and different!! Give 'em a try!

Stacked Tacos

Flour tortillas
Oil for frying tortillas (or bake them in a 375 degrees oven until golden brown)
1 pound ground beef
1 package taco mix (or 3 tablespoons homemade taco mix with 1/4 cup water)
1 14-ounce can refried beans
Grated cheese
Tomatoes
Lettuce
Sour cream
Salsa
Chopped avocado or guacamole

Fry or bake your flour tortillas and set aside.

Brown ground beef and add taco mix and water according to package directions.

Stir in refried beans and heat through.

Place one fried (or baked) tortilla on a plate.

Spread some meat/bean mixture on top.

Sprinkle and spread remaining ingredients on top.

Place another tortilla on top and repeat.

Here's all you need

Brown the ground beef then add the
taco mix and water. Give it a stir.

Add the beans and heat through.

Get all your other ingredients cut,
sliced and diced and start stackin'!!!
