Sweet Treat for the Holidays ~ by Norene Cox of Party Pinching

I'm so excited to share with all of you this wonderful new book by my friend Norene Cox over at Party Pinching. Have you been to her website and seen all the wonderful things she creates? With just a few simple ingredients she turns everyday treats into works of art. Her creative mind must work in overdrive all the time because the fun things in this book are just that, fun!

 There are amazing things for almost every holiday you 

can think of. The ones for Christmastime are especially fun! 

I think my favorite is the little Santa made from rice cereal 

treats but her hot cocoa cups are darling and a favorite of 

Martha Stewart herself!! How cool is that? Here are a few 

examples of Norene's wonderful creations.

To get you started on making your own fun holiday treat, 

here are the directions for making your own Krispie Kringles! 

1 (12-oz.) bag white candy coating
16 store-bought Rice Krispies Treats
red sugar sprinkles
16 white Sixlet candies
1 cup shredded coconut
32 candy eyes
16 red cinnamon imperial candies

1. Melt the white candy coating according to
the package instructions.
 

2. Dip both ends of the Rice Krispies Treat
into the melted candy coating. Place on
parchment paper.
 

3. Sprinkle the red sugar sprinkles on top of
the melted candy coating at one end, leaving
a line of white candy coating for the brim
of the hat.
 

4. Place a white Sixlet candy in the corner for
the pom on the hat.
 

5. Sprinkle the shredded coconut over the
melted candy coating on the other end of
the Rice Krispies Treat.
 

6. Dip the back of 2 candy eyes into the melted
candy coating and place in the middle of the
treat.
 

7. Attach a cinnamon candy with the melted
candy coating for a nose.
