Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Strawberry Popsicles

As you know, I have a hefty size bag of frozen strawberries I need to use up. Since I have my grandchildren over quite often, I figured I'd whip up some popsicles for them to finish out the summer. Big hit. Huge. I think they each had 2 the first day. I put in only a half cup of sugar in the whole batch but if your kids are used to eating things like this with no added sugar, then don't add it. Or use an alternate sweetener, like honey. Using frozen berries makes the mixture set up faster, too! Try different fruits...peach would be awesome...or a mixture of fruits! Really good...and super easy!

Strawberry Popsicles

20 medium sized strawberries*
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

Pour into popsicle molds. I used small disposable cups with wooden craft sticks for handles.

Place in the freezer for several hours or overnight.

Makes 8 - 10, depending on the size of your molds.

*I used frozen berries and found that the mixture was thicker before pouring into the cups and the sticks stayed upright in the thicker mixture.

Okay. Here's what you need. Seriously. That's it.
