Yum, yum and more yum! One of IT Guy's favorite candy bars is a
Snickers so I knew right off the bat that he would love this. What I
love is how easy it is. Using a cake mix was fun and these turn out just
like brownies! I think the hardest part was unwrapping all those little
caramels...but you know what? Worth it!
Snicker Bar Brownies
1 14-ounce bag caramels (about 50)
2/3 cup (1 5-oz. can) evaporated milk ~ divided use
1 German chocolate cake mix
3/4 cup butter ~ melted
1 cup peanuts
1 cup milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray.
In a medium bowl, melt unwrapped caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, nuts and remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Press half of the dough into prepared pan. This will be a thin layer.
Bake 6 minutes.
Remove pan from oven and pour caramel mixture over the dough. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Crumble
remaining dough over caramel and return to the oven for another 15 - 20
minutes until top is set and brownies pull away from the sides of the
pan.
Cool brownies in the pan for 30 minutes then chill until firm.
Welcome!
Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!
