Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Pork Chops With Honey Mustard Sauce

I really enjoy a sweet and savory combo so I whipped up this sauce to go with some pork chops I pulled out of the freezer. It doesn't make a ton but you could certainly double it. I only made four chops so it was a perfect amount for those. This is a very quick and easy dish and you don't even have to turn on the oven!!!

Pork Chops

with Honey Mustard Sauce

4 pork chops (I used bone-in, thin..because that's what I had. You could use a loin chop as well. Just make sure you cook it all the way through.)
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoon Dijon mustard (I used the grainy kind)
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/3 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon cold butter

Heat a little olive oil in a skillet over med-high heat.

Season pork chops with salt and pepper then add to the pre-heated pan. Cook for about 5 minutes per side or until they reach desired doneness. Remove from pan to a plate.

Add the broth, honey, mustard, and cayenne to the pan. Whisk together and turn off heat. Add the butter and swirl around in the sauce until melted. Add the pork chops, and any juices, back into the pan to coat with the sauce.

Cook another 3 to 5 minutes to heat through.

Serve immediately with some of the sauce drizzled over top.

The line up.

Season your chops and throw them
in the pan with a little olive oil.
Cook for about 5 minutes per side.

Remove the chops from the skillet
and add the broth, honey, cayenne and mustard.
Stir that around....

...then add the butter.

Add the chops back into the skillet
and allow to heat through for a few minutes.

Yum!!
